What's NEW?? CHA 2013 : TooLS

Hello All--
Susan Tidwell here with you today to share about some of our favorite Tool finds at CHA!

I'm helping Miss Tracy out with this post since it's a little difficult for her to type at the moment. While at CHA, we saw several interesting new tools...and I thought I would spotlight a few of them for you today.

First up is Tim Holtz's new Dimensional Cutting Pad from Sizzix. You really have to see this in action to fully understand it, but essentially it is a square, clear cutting pad with a beveled indentation down the center. This allows you to cut something out of the center of a card or other paper keeping the center of the cut image intact. Because it's square it will work either horizontally or vertically. The photo shows the pad on the left, a movers-and-shapers butterfly and the cut cardstock.

There was a huge buzz at CHA about WeR Memory Keeper's new Envelope Punch Board.  It's small - approximately 6"x8" -  and creates many sizes of envelopes. Complete directions and measurement are printed right on the board and it will create up to 60 sizes!  You just punch the indent at center top (turquoise button below) and score from there to edge of paper, turn paper 90 degrees and repeat, continuing on all four sides. The turquoise button is also a corner punch to round the corners of the envelope if desired. No more searching for the right size envelope. Great for adding to layouts and books too!

And you can't beat the Price... Only $19.99!

Another "home run" by WeR is their introduction of NEW 2 Edge Punches to coordinate with their popular Mini8 and Super8 corner punches.  The new punch designs match corner designs and can punch between the corners, thus creating many sizes of decorative-edged papers. The punch is triple duty as it will also just punch a straight border or, by changing a lever on the underside, punch a double-sided strip as seen below.  A must-have even if you don't have a Mini8 or Super8 punch! And I love that it does more than just one thing.

Really easy to use and several great designs to choose from!

Do we need another paper trimmer?
Well yes, if it does what it is supposed to do, consistently!
The new personal rotary trimmer CutterPillarPro looks promising! We all tested it on paper, cardstock and even chipboard. Kristyn says she can't cut a straight edge with any cutter so she was amazed when she cut a perfectly straight little sliver on this! It self-sharpens - no need for replacement blades - and has a battery-operated light.
Can't wait to try this out!

Thanks for reading...and I hope to see you at the LBH soon!
Susan

P.S. Be sure and follow the LBH blog and post your comments here...Miss Tracy will be announcing several WINNERS very SOON and you don't want to miss out!

  4. Ooh, I hadn't heard about the border punches that coordinate with the 8 punches! Very cool! Love the cutter and envelope punch, too! But what I'm looking forward to the MOST from WRMK is their 3x4 punch - a must for divided page protector scrapping! (:
